The internship/consultancy project is an integral part of the International Organizations MBA programme. It consists of three months of full-time employment with an international organization, nongovernmental organization, or a social enterprise and starts at the end of the academic core of the programme.
The IOMBA internship provides an opportunity for valuable work experience, enables students to prove their academic and applied excellence in their chosen organization, and provides a unique opportunity to further developing their professional network. Internships are an invaluable entry into the IO system, and IOMBA Career Services encourages students to accept internships that lead to full-time employment with the selected organization. Students can also choose to go straight into a job, so long as they can use their first months on the job to prepare a detailed consultancy report that demonstrates the integration of theory into practice.
The IOMBA works with participants to equip them with the set of skills they need to find a place in an International Organization, NGO, or Social Enterprise. In addition, through our network of contacts, we help match individuals with suitable organizations. Through an integrated Career Services curriculum, the programme is designed to ensure that the IOMBA experience will offer a truly integrated, hands on, insiders' view into the world of management in international and nongovernmental organizations.
The IOMBA programme has established relationships with many organizations, both in the public and private sectors. A partial list of organizations that have accepted IOMBA students for internship and consultancies includes (partial list):
